Week 48

Not a super eventful week, a lot of people were gone because it was holidays so we didnt get a lot of work done. And considering I sent a million pics last time this will be a shorter email. Im feeling extra lazy today.

Monday was nothing super special, We went with the Tongan elders into the creepy hospital place again. We saw Lance and his wife that evening.

Tuesday was dmeet. We tried some people and didnt get in much. We did a FHE session with the Saveas and talked about prayer. The AOG pastor is being extra fake with us. Sister Savea he wants to bash with us super badly haha. Im getting sick of this guy, indoctrinating the primary children ðŸ˜¤

Wednesday we contacted a refferal in the morning. His brother reffered him to us, he is a schizophrenic so thats fun. He accepted a baptismal date. We talked to brother Roe about the last days and a bunch of dreary stuff, hes the one that brought it up. Its pretty sad all this weird stuff going on. Is transgender bathrooms/go into whatever bathroom you want a thing in Canada to? I hope its just the states. Its so backwards.

Thursday I went on exchanges with Elder Butcher in the Silverlakes area. We had president interviews in the morning and then ended up having to take the car to pepboys. Ate sushi for lunch, car still wasnt done. Ended up waiting 2.5 hours. Went to silverlakes, which is a community in the middle of nowhere between Barstow and Victorville. Saw some people, played some pool. Ate sushi again for dinner #score  Exchanged back. Why are exchanges so useless?

Friday we saw Joseph in the morning, he was totally silent compared to his usual constant 100mph talking while we taught the Restoration, it was super cool. I had another ingrown toenail on my other foot. Gosh these suck. I get them super deep in so no home-remedy can prevent them it succckkkksss. But they doctor numbed it so well I couldnt feel my toe till that night.

Saturday we literally drove in one big circle around the entire desert and saw only 2 people. As a missionary, I hate vacations and holidays.

Sunday was good. Your usual sunday stuff. Sacrament. Class. yea. I feel like something exciting happened but I cant remember.

Sorry fam, sort of a drab week to read about. Oh well. Next Week.
Love ya!

Week 47

Heyoooo! This week was pretty sick. We got a lot of good work done so I am pumped. A bunch of potentials in the Samoan ward to so thats pretty nice.

Monday we went on a hike with the E. Shumway and all the ysa aged peeps in the Samoan ward. It was pretty tight. John Nu'u left for Missouri for boot camp a few days later so it was kind of a farewell thing. His real last name is Nunez but hes in the Samoan ward sooo they gave him a Samoan name haha

Tuesday we had zone meeting. It was pretty boring, I cant stand sitting there for so long. This one was a little more awful because our "I am the best missionary ever" district leader gave a training and practiced priest craft,m meaning, even though Jesus Christ gave an interpretation of a parable, this missionary said that he though his interpretation was better. *sigh*
We saw the Rosales fam and went pretty bold. Its hard meeting with people for so long and not seeing them progress so I just sorta threw down with scriptures (Mormon 8:38 if you were wondering) But hey, they came to church!

Wednesday we went to Apple Valley after having seen a few peeps in Ghettolanto. We picked up a new Samoan investigator who used to be a former for the YSA! It was super cool because we had Malcom with us and they knew eachother. #blessings

Thursday we took Malcom again in the morning to AppleValley but a lot of people werent home, we were still able to teach a few people before hitting up a sushi joint for lunch.
We werent let into any houses until splits that night. I went to the Savea/Motufau homes and had a good chat with them. It was kinda awk because they kept saying that if I went to the island they would go crazy to "have a cute little white boy like you" haha llooooooooll it was pretty weird.

Friday we weekly planned with the Tongan elders next to the pool in their apartment. We saw a few people in adelanto again, the work is progressing pretty well up there. Then we had dinner at our WML's home. He has two potential families in the Samoan ward for us to stop by! Also I cant remember what day but we totally followed some guy in his car to find out were he lived because he looked Samoan #RighteousStalking
I will let you know what happens when we knock his door.

Saturdaywas pretty basic, seeing people until dinner. Everyday has just become a "survive until dinner" experience for me. The Samoans have wrecked me.
But we ate at the Sagapolo's house. He is a fisherman so he gets hecka fish for free. We ended up eating a ton of swordfish and a massive plate of tuna sashimi. Dang it was hecka good.

Sunday was sunday, ya feel?

Thats all fam!

Week 46

Sup?
I cant think of any more original intros to my emails haha

Monday was pretty dope, we were supposed to be inside by 6 cuz of crazy peeps but we were at bishops till 8:30 #islandtime
the fireworks were super crazy though, people went all out.

Tuesday d-meet was pretty bland, THelander and I dont particularly see eye to eye with our district leader and a lot of people were down the hill to get their greenies. Oh! Greenie in the house, his name is E. Hulterstrom from Provo Utah. He has said a total of 3 words while we are home haha. poor guy.
Thelander and I found an abandoned neighbourhood, which includes a hospital. Obvi we explored a  bit. Dont worry we were on lunch break, people were still invited unto Christ for the rest of the day. I'll attach some pics but they have inapprops graffiti in them so its up to my parents discretion of they include them.

Wednesday was a pretty basic day, we took Wilding and his greenie to walmart because they had just shown up the night before. Then we went out and taught some people!

Thursday was a really good day, started off with service then we were able to see a bunch of people in the afternoon. We taught Joseph again, he went on a rant about drinking water because we are in the desert heat and I flipped it into the Samarian woman at the well and the Gospel and Jesus giving us Living Water. #scripturemaster

We had dinner with the Escobars, they are super cool. We ended up talking about everyone in the ward, in a non-gossip way. It was more of a "how the heck is everyone related?" haha
oh and it was my birthday, lol. Thanks everyone who sent me anything!  Holidays on the mission are just like any other day haha

Friday wasnt super productive, we weekly planned and then were able to see only two people. A lot of peeps went down the hill to a family reunion or to Utah for a funeral. We tried by the Tuataga's and a bunch of the Samoan YSA were there so we talked with them for a bit. John Nunez is a convert of barely a year and has a super strong testimony its legit. He leaves for Missouri for some military thing this week. Gonna miss him :'(

Saturday was the best day of the week. We knew we needed more potentials in Adelanto so as we drove up to a less-actives we saw a bunch of ghetto peeps waving at us. We decided to talk to them and long story short we got two new gators Javon and Keyshawn! Javon is under house-arrest so we can visit him whenever! Hooray!!
We saw a bunch of other peeps in Adelanto before finishing off the day at the Tupai house.

Sunday was a basic church goin day. It went pretty well. We took the sacrament to some medically less-active Samoans. Dinner at Bishops, we talked about the ward family tree (its craaaaaazzzzyyyy). Then we went to the Saveas and they sang happy birthday to me and we ate cake!

This week was a lot of fun fam! Lemme know how yours went!

Week 45

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeea! Another transfer in the ghetto/Samoan wards! I am super pumped! My new comp is Elder Thelander, fun fact, he came out one transfer before me and his first comp was Elder Jennings! so in missionary terms we are 'half-brothers'

Monday was sick, we had another zone bbq. Elder Boltz and I dint eat a lot because we were anticipating a bbq dinner but it didnt pan out :(
There was one of those bucket-crane things and Elder Shumway and I climbed up it #yolo

Tuesday was district meeting, Elder Boltz was given most of the time to tell us what the biggest thing he learned form the miss was, it was super good. Dang I miss him... :'(
We saw Joseph Satele, who is the brother-in-law of a less active. He has come to church a few times and we invited him to be baptized and he was super pumped for it! I am super excited for the work coming up.

Wednesday I cant really remember what we did in the morning, but in the afternoon we went to ward camp. We got there around 5 because it was supposed ot be our dinner, and then we were 45 minutes late to our exchanges that night.... at 9:30 haha #islandtime

Thursday I went with Elder Guerra on one of the most fun/pointless exchanges ever. We met the new President that morning, so I saw Elder Boltz all day anyway haha. President and Sister Taylor are super cool, its weird though because all the missionaries can do president Hobbs' voice impersonations because he has a super distinct voice but Pres. Taylor doesnt. He is definitly way more... how do I put it... emotional? in a good way though haha. Elder Boltz made sure to point out the fact that he was now the missionary having served the longest in the whole mission because he arrived at the MTC first. Taught a lot of spanish people, and missed out on swordfish at ward camp that night. smh

Friday Elder Boltz packed a bit while I weekly planned. We went and watched the testaments with the Savea fam because they love us so much. It was kinda sad because we thought I was gonna leave but I stayed! We had dinner with the Fata's that night, it was super fun.

Saturday we plugged in pretty much every member of the ward into the gps and hit them all up in case someone didnt show up to church to say bye to Boltz. Elder Boltz and I also took a pic at in a boat in the middle of the desert. Kinda sad cuz we saw it my first week here and planned on getting a pic, and now its the last one I have of him.

Saturday was hectic, Elder Boltz bore his testimony which was super sick. Then we got rushed by everyone at the end of sacrament and he got lei'd super hard (😂)
Elder Boltz then drove down the Hill with another departing missionary and I spent the night at the Jelan house in AppleValley with elder Ogbonna, Mcchesney and Porrit (I think I butchered the spelling on all of those)

Monday we drove down the hill and all got our comps. Elder Thelander and I had a light lunch because we had two bbqs that night. We were supposed to be at our apartments by 6 but we were at Bishops till 8:30 #rebelz #islandtimeagain
Adelanto is the only city in the high dessert that you can use fireworks, and even then its only legal to use the little fountains that go up like 9 feet. Lets just say that the law didnt stop these people from celebrating thew 4th. I heard people save 2000$ for the 4th, half to buy fireworks and half for the fine haha.

and now its Tuesday, Elder Wilding is coming up the hill today with his greenie (Loveless got transfered). We will see how it goes.

Love you all!
