Week 22

This week went really well, we had a bunch of meetings it was a struggle though.

Monday was your basic P-day, b-ball at the church with all the missionaries. Our zone changed a lot, there are only about 4 missionaries that stayed from last transfer (including me) but it was cool meeting new missionaries since I've been stuck in Ontario this whole time :(

Tuesday was your basic d-meet. We taught a few lessons to potentials and contacted a bit. We tried by a less active in the family ward but there was a bunch of police at his house so we dipped out real quick haha. awko taco.

Wednesday there was a world wide missionary training in the morning. It was pretty cool, apparently the last one was 10 years ago. They had a bunch of discussions with missionaries and the some of the 12 apostles and the seventy which was interesting. We switched areas last week with our ward mate (idk if I already said this but oh well) so we tried stopping by some people in our new area to get to know them better.

Thursday we went to the food bank because we couldnt on wednesday and the spanish elders needed our help. it was pretty basic day other than that. taught some people, met some people, spread the good word.

Friday a memeber from the family ward took us out to brekkie which was sweet! We have been blessed with the meals recently, less empty days and less pizza. I am so grateful haha. But then we had a zone conference with president and sister Hobbs at the mission office. it was about 4 hours which was killer, we sit around enough on sunday jeez. But it was good, we had some good discussions.

Saturday we had exchanges with some other elders. Elder Ludwig came over here again, we had brekkie with a YSA in the morning at 10 so we went over and his mom fed us and he didnt show up till 11:30... awkward. anyway other than that all of our appointments fell through and we were late to exchanging back because we got stopped by some dude who just wanted to bash, we just stood there while he talked for about 40 minutes, it was awful. I had so much I wanted to say but I hate getting into arguments. sigh*

SUnday was another struggle. This time we were there for 10 hours, though we could have been there longer ebcause the YSA had a fireside but we choose not to because we were there for 10 flippin hours. In one sunday we are there for the time equivalent to 3 weeks worth of church.... #thestruggle

But yea that is my week.
Love you all!

Week 21

This week was pretty cool I suppose, it was a little slow at parts but we pulled through.

Monday was kind of crazy, as I said in last week. We had a lesson with Alejandra and her sister which went really well.

Tuesday I gave a training in district meeting about successful missionaries. It is so much easier to take up time in a training because everyone else talks as well unlike sacrament talks... sheesh

Wednesday we had food bank. they always tell us to take food and such which is a huge blessing haha. saves us a lot of money. we had to take our ward-mates shopping because they are on bike now (haha) so we also had a huge debate on who gets what area because one of them is super trunky but wont admit it and doesn't want to bike far. but anyway....

This whole week we have been tracting and contacting a lot because we need to increase our teaching pool.

On Thursday we found this huge nasty cricket thing called a "child of the earth" while tracting. It pretty much looks like a freaky baby with bug legs. also they are really hard to kill. gross.

Friday was just stopping by people who said we could return to teach them, a few were still interested but a lot weren't home.

Saturday... gosh I cant even think of anything to say anymore. This week was super boring and I cant remember anything exciting other than on sunday we had a really good turnout for YSA sacrament.

Hopefully next week will be more entertaining

Love you all.

Week 20

So a lot happened this week but a lot of it wasn't work sadly. No more
departing devotionals, no more transfer meetings, but that's for later.

Monday was boring, nothing of note. Oh wait, we saw Alejandra, who is one
of our investigators whos family was baptized forever ago and then became
LA immediately so she never grew  up in the church.

Tuesday we continued in our recent convert lessons with Daisy, its crazy to
see how far she has progressed.

Wednesday we had exchanges with the spanish elders again. Elder Spaulding
came to our area with me, we had a really good day, got to see a few people
that needed visits. Found out we have a lot in common so we got a long
really well.

Thursday was slow, we did food bank and saws some less actives. Mike
Bagshaw was visiting Ontario for work so we met up for some krispy kreme .
It was super weird but awesome, seeing a someone from my life as a normal
human being haha.

Friday we had exchanges witht he ZL's so we didnt do weekly planning. Elder
Wiginton came to our area with me, we tracted pretty much all day because
we need people to teach! btw tracting is pretty ineffective. We met a crazy
old lady who gave us can tabs and said each one saved a life. She then told
us that her "childrens father" died and the clouds told her that he was in
heaven. Quote of the day, "the clouds will tell you everything!" haha. we
also met a bunch of people who were super anti which was cool I guess.

Saturday we got transfer calls but it wass way different this time. They
only told us who was leaving, which was everyone in our district except me
and two other people. The other district in our zone barely had any
changes. Sow e knew Elder Jennings was leaving and all they told us was for
him to pack up and be ready to go that night. so we didnt get a whole lot
done that day.

Sunday was stake conference which was nice, the presiding general authority
told President Hobbs not to get trunky haha (Pres goes to every stake
conference). Anyway I want to talk about what happened after. E. Barlik was
leaving because he finished his mission, but Elder Ludwig was leaving as
well, until Pres Hobbs came up to us and told him he was staying (awesome
cuz we get a long super well) and E. Jennings is going zone leader again!
so apparently after his mission he will have been zone leader for a whole
year which is crazy. But at the end of the day we still had no idea where
anyone was going or who was their comp (I had heard rumours about mine
which ended up being true)

Today! We found out where people where going and who are comps were this
morning around 8:00! so we drove up to the desert to drop off E. Jennings
and pick up my comp E. Bentley and then we got home and now we are
emailing. Crazy.

Have a good week!

Week 19

Its 2016! SO this is what they call on the mish the "black year" because you look back later in life and that year is blank because all you did was missionary work haha. This week was slow, only got a handful of lessons which kind of was a bummer.

Monday was pretty basic, p-day activity and such. The only eventful thing was we had dinner with a super less active and I accidently called them out for breaking the Word of Wisdom haha. I asked them what the mysterious colored liquid was in their china cabinet and they said water and food coloring. I didnt realize what it really was until we left haha *cough*hard liquor*cough*

Tuesday was super slow, we are starting to teach Daisy the recent convert lessons. While in our lesson with Daisy there was a uper loud bang and the wall shook like crazy. And that was my first earthquake. If I could describe it in one word... underwhelming. I wanted to feel that shaking but the only thing that happened was the wall moved. *sigh*
We started exchanges with the spanish Elders that night.

Wednesday I was in the Spanish area with Elder Ward, he came out a transfer after I did. Anyway I pretty much did nothing, I caught a few words and phrases here and there. He told me to say "dios le ama" whenever he looked at me, which means "god loves you" haha. We had a lot of fun.

Thursday we had a full day set up with 3 investigators and a bunch of LA's but they all fell through! what the heck it was the worst, we just stopped by as many people on the ward list as we could that were less-active. Also I fell asleep at 10:30 while me companion and ward-mates played board games. Apparently at 12 everyone started shooting guns off all over town but I slept through it haha. I was beat.

Friday! A new year! I honestly dont remember anything from friday, we tried some people but everyone was asleep because they were up partying.

Saturday We did exchanges again, Elder Ludwig came to our area with me. We made a few mistakes haha. Downed an energy drink friday night at 9:30 and stayed up till 3, made some eggs, then went to sleep. We still got missionary work done dont worry. But we also tried to do the 100 nugget challenge. We had a ton of fun, I the most at home/normal that day which was good but also bad haha. #totallyworthit

Sunday was awful, the time changed so Rancho park meets at (am and YSA still meets at 1. so we were at church from 7am until 4:30. And it was fast sunday...yea.

Anyway that was my week. Transfer calls this saturday, we will see what happens I guess.
Should be interesting.

Happy New Year!
